]]> The article explores the challenges and transformations facing Armenian civil society in the aftermath of the revolution and the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War. It centers on the question of whether, under current conditions, civil society has sufficient potential for promoting the public sphere toward social change, social justice and radicalization of democracy.

Drawing on five group discussions, we examine both the potential and the limitations of civil society to overcome social apathy, repair social connections and provide genuine opportunities for public expression and participation, particularly in the run-up to the 2026 parliamentary elections.

]]> This report is based on Armine Ishkhanyan’s extensive qualitative field researches conducted during her three visits to Armenia. The research was assisted by the Socioscope team. The report examines the recent social mobilization of civil society groups in Armenia on environmental issues. In particular, it focuses on organized civil society campaigns against the mining industry in the country. The report examines the achievements, challenges, and obstacles of civil society in Armenia. It aims at contributing to the debate on the country’s mining industry, as well as on broader socio-economic and political developments in Armenia and in different diaspora communities.
