Researcher
Shushan Abrahamyan graduated from Central European University with a master’s degree in sociology and social anthropology in 2019. Her academic and professional interests include, but are not limited to urban studies, sociology of art, media studies and the implementation of visual methods in social sciences. She has joined the team of Socioscope in 2020 as a researcher.
Shushan is also interested in journalism and is a student at Hetq Media Factory since September 2020.

Evelina is a sociologist with more than 15 years of experience in research, human rights, civil society, and environmental movements. Before moving to Australia in 2016, she acted as Socioscope’s projects director for several years. In Australia, Evelina continues applying her knowledge and experience in social science, human rights, and advocacy.
Administrative assistant
Agipi Ivanyan graduated from the Armenian State University of Economics in 2000. In 2004 she earned her master’s degree in business administration at the American University of Armenia. She has experience in accounting and human resources management. Agapi is working in Socioscope as an administrative assistant since 2018.

Project assistant, researcher
Mariam Khalatyan graduated from Yerevan State University with a master’s degree in Sociological Research Methodology. Mariam has been involved in Socioscope’s activities since 2016. From 2017 she has joint the team as project assistant.Professional interests include migration processes and issues in Armenia, current issues of civil society, issues of sexuality in medieval Armenia.
In 2018 Mariam has attended courses of “Art Criticism and Curatorial Studies School” at the Institute of Contemporary Art as a listener.

Accountant
A graduate of Yerevan State Engineering University in 2005, Sona Mamikonyan later has requalified as financial analyst and accountant and has worked with various organizations both in the private and the civic sector. Sona has joined Socioscope in 2013 as accountant.

Researcher
Arpy Manusyan graduated from Yerevan State University with a master’s degree in sociology in 2012. She has been involved in Socioscope’s research projects since 2008. The main scope of her professional interests is civic movements and contentious politics in Armenia, the history of local social science, the interrelations of local literature and social science, and the issues of sexuality. She has been studying the media discourses on human rights, civic movements and political ideologies for many years.

Co-founder, researcher
Sona Manusyan is a founding member of Socioscope. Sona holds a Ph.D. in psychology and is an assistant professor at Yerevan State University. Her research interests center on personal and collective identities and, broadly speaking, the personal-public relationship, in particular as manifested in civic and ethno-cultural processes. Sona is also engaged with questions of qualitative methodology. She has participated in several international academic programs and study visits. She also provides translation services from English to Armenian and vice versa.

Project director, researcher
Nvard Margaryan earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work at the Yerevan State University, the Faculty of Sociology in 2011. In 2016, she completed her Human Rights Advocates Program at Columbia University at the International School of Human Rights. Since 2009 she has been working on protection of the human rights of vulnerable groups in Armenia. She began her work at Socioscope in 2019 as projects director.

Co-founder
Anna Zhamakochyan is one of Socioscope NGO’s co-founders. She is a sociologist, a media discourse researcher, and is interested in ideology studies. For Anna, media and ideology critic is a mechanism of social change.
Anna also has professional interest in contemporary art (artivism) in Armenia and has curating experience.
